TITHING DEBATE: Daddy Freeze calls out Pastor Ashimolowo for calling him a dummy & wife beater

The controversy generated by COOL FM’s radio personality Daddy Freeze over his belief that tithing has been used by new generation Pastors to financial drain their followers is yet to abate.

This time, the radio personality has called out Pastor Matthew Ashimolowo of Kingsway International Christian Centre (KICC) for calling him a yoyo and accusing him of beating his wife and son while he was preaching about tithe.
Pastor Ashimolowo during his televised sermon said; “Once and for all let’s settle this matter, on the power of the tithe. Some bunch of yoyo somewhere should not determine what you pay. Some guy who beats his wife, throws her out, throws his children out of the house, broke his son’s knees, should not determine what we believe. He drinks alcohol, sleeps with women and he’s trying to preach.”
Reacting to Pastor Ashimolowo’s comments, Daddy Freeze wrote a reply saying; “Haaaaaa! Has it come to this? See the way he is defending tithing with so much passion, I hope this same passion is extended to bringing home our brothers who are currently enslaved in Libya.
“I didn’t hear ONE single bible verse, just sentiments and emotions in this defense.
“Who is this ‘Yoyo’ now? Mention his name make we know am.?and I hope there is proof to back these allegations up and they are not just ‘hear say’ from an false interview conducted on an embattled pot of stale bitter leaf soup.

“Whoever the ‘yoyo’ is, one thing is certain, he cannot determine what the body of Christ believes, only the BIBLE can do that, so until you can come out with a superior argument to explain where Jesus our high priest, or the disciples our first pastors collected tithes, it looks like the ‘yoyo’ is the one speaking the biblical truth and no amount of subbing or name calling can override the scriptures.
“If the ‘yoyo’ drinks alcohol, lets remember Jesus drank alcohol too.. he was called a drunkard by the Pharisees.. the teachers of religious law who burdened the people with unbearable religious yokes and put up similar fights when Jesus drove the money changers out of the temple!

Last week, an Abuja based cleric, Pastor Humble Okoro offered to exorcise Daddy Freeze of 52 destiny destroying demons over his stance on tithing.
Pastor Okoro challenged Daddy Freeze to a spiritual contest at National Stadium Abuja but he says it is not a contest as such as he hopes to prove to Nigerians that the on air personality is demonized.
He said; “This is not a debate, but a power clash meeting that will prove to Nigerians how Daddy freeze is demonized which will herald to his ostracism. Last April, I confirmed and certified him being possessed and tormented by 52 destiny destroying demons.”
The cleric also stated that this is not the first time he is challenging the Daddy Freeze to a spiritual contest.
“You would remember this is not the first time I had sought to deliver Daddy freeze through this medium of challenge, but regrettably, he evicted. As I am speaking now, our workers are on plans to reach the relevant authorities as regards to having the event hosted in National Stadium Abuja, if only Freeze will pick a date. But if I am allowed to choose, December 25th serves a better date.”
